Which issue will my subscription start with and how many will I receive?

Print subscriptions are determined by our publishing schedule and start with the next issue to be released after the date of subscription. You’ll receive a total of four print magazines over the course of your subscription, receiving a new one each quarter. Online, you’ll also receive unlimited access to Kinfolk’s archives from issue 14 including the issue your subscription starts with, and all previous issues published online

What are the benefits of subscribing?

Premium subscriptions give readers more than ever, including the newest issues of Kinfolk arriving to your doorstep four times per year at a reduced shipping price, plus full access to all issue content on Kinfolk.com, and a complimentary set of Kinfolk Notecards. Premium subscribers are also entitled to a 10% discount on all purchases through the online shop. Subscribers must be signed in to their account to benefit from the discount. The discount is applied at checkout, and does not include shipping costs, sale items or products purchased using a promotional code. We reserve the right to revise the subscriber discount without notice, and to exclude certain products from the offer.

Digital subscribers will gain unlimited access to Kinfolk.com for the duration of the twelve-month subscription.

Do subscriptions auto-renew?

All subscriptions will auto-renew on the day that they are due to expire: one year after purchase for print and digital subscriptions. We will inform you by email when your subscription is due to auto-renew. Please note that gift subscriptions purchased for someone other than yourself will not auto-renew.

Should you prefer your subscription not to auto-renew, you can disable this function in your account settings. Simply log in and access the user menu from the toolbar on the top right of the home page. Select “View Order” and click “Turn Off Auto-Renew.” This will end the recurring payment but continue the subscription for the remaining issues for which payment has already been processed.

My subscription has ended. How do I renew?

Your subscription will automatically renew, so you don’t need to take any further action to keep receiving issues of Kinfolk and accessing all content on Kinfolk.com.

Can I purchase a subscription to Kinfolk.com?

Yes, we offer annual digital subscriptions for Kinfolk.com, which can be purchased here.

Can I cancel my subscription?

To cancel your auto-renewal, please sign into your Kinfolk account and click cancel auto-renewal under subscriptions.

I’ve relocated since subscribing. How do I change my address?

Unfortunately, customers are unable to update their address on the website.

Please write to our customer service team at support@kinfolk.com with the order information (your name, the incorrect address and the correct address for shipping your orders). If the order has not yet been shipped, we can make the change. Unfortunately, if the order has already shipped, we are unable to reroute your delivery. In that case, we are happy to provide you with a replacement for an additional fee.

To ensure that your copy of Kinfolk arrives as soon as possible, we ask that you notify us of any impending address changes no later than 7 weeks after you received your last issue of Kinfolk.

Please note that we are unable to accept responsibility for replacement issues if the correct information is not supplied.


How soon can I expect my order?

Delivery can take 1–2 weeks for orders within the US/CA and European Union, or 4–8 weeks for international shipments depending on your location and local customs*. If you have any questions about your order, feel free to write to us at support@kinfolk.com.

*International orders may be subject to import duties and customs taxes. All incurred charges are the responsibility of the buyer: Kinfolk has no control over these. Any questions or queries for customs policies must be made to your local customs office.

What should I do if I don’t receive an issue?

Where does Kinfolk deliver?

Kinfolk ships worldwide. If you would like confirmation that we can ship to your address, please contact our customer service department at support@kinfolk.com.

Can I order any back issues in print?

Yes, however, we have limited inventory for our back issues. The earliest available is Issue 14.

What are the different shipping costs?

For a single issue purchase, the shipping costs vary from $5USD to $14USD. Shipping costs are calculated at the checkout once the country to which the shipment is being sent has been specified. You will be aware of the shipping cost before submitting your order. Please note that the shipping costs are included in the price for subscriptions ($75USD for orders shipping to the US and $90 for orders shipping outside of the US).

Why are international shipping and handling costs so high?

We print and ship from USA/UK, hence the high shipping costs to international destinations. We are always looking for ways to save readers expensive shipping and handling costs, so if you would like to know where to find a copy of Kinfolk in your city, we have a growing list of stockists available on our website and are always happy to receive more suggestions.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Kinfolk accepts PayPal, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Do you offer internships?

Kinfolk offers three-month training and work experience programs in Copenhagen that offer exposure to all aspects of the publishing industry (administrative, production, editorial, print, etc.), and encompass activities designed to enrich interns with valuable skills that are transferable to a future career. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, but decisions will be made roughly 6–8 weeks prior to start date.

An account is not required to browse Kinfolk.com or to read free-to-view content.
