THREE PLACES TO STAY IN SEOUL머무를 곳
Where to sleep in the Korean capital.
Nuwa:
Designed by Seoul-based architects Z Lab, Nuwa is a single-room guesthouse in Seochon that blends traditional hanok architecture with a contemporary pared-back interior. The space has been conceived around the concept of wayu (literally “lying down” and “playing”) and is intended as an escape from the hectic modern city. Guests are encouraged to enjoy tea ceremonies on the large walnut table, soak in the bath or simply spend time in bed—reading or taking in the small, landscaped garden from the round window in the bedroom.

Hillo Jae:
Arranged around a tranquil courtyard in the heart of Bukchon Hanok Village, Hillo Jae combines the experience of a traditional hanok house with contemporary design, modern comforts and the works of local artists.

Ananti at Gangnam:
The Ananti hotel in bustling Gangnam was conceived by SKM Architects as a place for rest and rejuvenation. All 110 rooms have double-height spaces, with the beds accessed on mezzanines, and balconies overlooking the city. The brick annex at the rear of the building—with an indoor and outdoor pool, sauna and gym—features arches that were des-igned to emulate a med-ieval monastery.
